Acapulco Entry Requirements

PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP / REQUIRED TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

If you are a Citizen of the United States or Canada, you must present either:

1. Valid Passport. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and the most convenient method of proof of citizenship. (Need a Passport Fast? Call Travel Documents Express 202-785-3250)

OR

2. Birth Certificate in conjunction with valid, state issued photo ID. This must be (1) an original copy of your birth certificate from the state or municipality where you were born with a raised seal or (2) your original birth certificate with raised seal. Hospital issued certificates with your footprints is not valid and photocopies of certificates without raised seal or notary are not valid.

If you are not a U.S. citizen, it is your responsibility to contact the nearest consulate to determine exactly what documentation you need to travel abroad. Failure to provide the required documentation will result in denial of boarding and forfeiture of your entire trip without a refund. The phone number to the Mexico Consulate is 800-446-3942. It is your responsibility to obtain proper documentation, visas, etc.

Very strict regulations govern international travel by minors (those under 18). If you are under 18, and are travelling without your parents, in addition to the documentation requirements listed above, you will also need to show a notarized (raised seal) parental consent form signed by BOTH legal guardians at the airport before you are allowed to leave the U.S. If one legal guardian is deceased or unreachable you must present a notarized (raised seal) document to that effect (e.g. notarized copy of a death certificate, notarized court documents of sole guardianship).
